Gettysburg is often called the turning point of the Civil War. However, no event was as significant as the siege of Vicksburg. The photos in this post showcase Vicksburg, Mississippi, and its surroundings. The black-and-white images were taken by my father in June 1968. The color photos are mine, captured in August 2024. These pictures were taken 56 years apart.

In this post, Joe compares photos of Tokyo locations from 1991 with updated shots of the same spots in 2024.

Check out Tokyo–over 30 years ago, and again today! I haven’t pinpointed the exact date when the old photos in this post were taken. At first, I assumed they were from the late 80s, but spotting Sonic the Hedgehog in the Akihabara pictures below suggests the photos were likely taken in fall 1991. The old photos all come from a single trip to Japan, probably in fall 1991…

Joe presents 20 pairs of pictures, illustrating changes over multiple decades around Walt Disney World.

Similar to the first post of this type: each of these 20 pictures were taken in the same location, though at least 20 years apart from one another. Additionally, each picture below was taken somewhere in Walt Disney World. I’ve tried to get as close to the original location where possible. (In some cases, buildings were built or foliage was installed that blocked the view entirely.

May all of you have the chance to relive your favorite memories as I have been able to! Each of these pictures were taken in the same location, though at least 25 years apart from one another.
Have you ever wanted to take a picture on a dark ride? In this article, Joe talks about his methods of capturing the magic, with examples from Walt Disney World.

You may be able to tell that I’m a “photo nerd.” All of the photography on this blog was taken by me, except in some circumstances when I’m in the photo. I’ve never been a professional photographer, but I have gotten better over the years. In my photography experience, the most challenging pictures I’ve taken have ever taken have been on the dark rides at Disney parks.
