Howdy Dave! I don’t disagree.

Since I wrote this, they did stop with (most) of the COVID tyranny. But stupid things like park reservations remain. I’ll bet if they could force masks again, they almost definitely would.

But I absolutely agree, especially with the resorts statement. I have no idea why anyone coughs up that much to stay at one of the Disney-owned resorts anymore. There’s just no reason to at this point, unless you have more dollars than sense.

Thanks for your comment, and I hope that you find some enjoyable stuff while you’re visiting. (If you have the bandwidth, consider checking out Universal/SeaWorld/Busch Gardens. They’re worth a look.)

I am in Disney now. Nothing appears to have changed very high prices for sub standard Chineese plastic imports, even in the Christmas shop. The geriatricly slow Gestapo security still very much enjoying intimidating guests hiding behind their badges and the potential threat of a “Disney jail” for those who dare complain. Gon has free speech or even treating guests as guests replaced by a regieme Putin would be proud of……..Disney just a corporate joke…. never again for me or any of the 20 strong party I paid for from England.
I would never recommend a Disney resort and like you I will say so in public.

This blog post is so dead on – I’m relieved to see someone else has the same thoughts I do. I went to Disneyworld (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Hollywood Studios) in December 2021, on the Disney Dream in December 2021, and Disneyland in March 2022. By far, the worst experience I had was Magic Kingdom. Gone were the sweet and helpful cast members, replaced by the Gestapo. Masks were required for everything indoors for our “safety,” which apparently we didn’t need to be worried about as they jam packed us shoulder-to-shoulder for the fireworks. Lines were long, prices were hiked up everywhere, and the quality was just so subpar compared to my past trips. Disneyland in March was substantially better, mostly because a lot of restrictions were gone, but Genie+ is still awful (I have yet to hear from a single person who says this has been better than the old FastPass system). I used to love going to Disney parks and it was my goal to visit all of them worldwide someday, but my last trip to Disneyworld has told me to wait a few years before trying again; maybe some of the crappy changes will have reverted back.
